How To Care For Your Hair?

Be Gentle

One of the most important things about Hair Extensions is that you have to baby them. When you are brushing your hair, Be Gentle. Always use a Wide Tooth Comb, always comb or brush hair from bottom up, in small sections at a time. For Curly hair please detangle it when in the water with conditioner. Do not comb it after it is dry, otherwise it will cause tangling and matting.

Without the proper treatment, your hair extensions will get damaged quickly.

Hair Care Produts

Use good name brand products, Jane Carter Solution, or Mixed-Chicks are highly recommended. Use a good (leave-in) conditioner to keep your hair soft. Don't over do it. Too much conditioner or any other hair care product can cause a build up and tangling. Avoid hair products that contain alcohol. Alcohol makes hair dry. Ask your stylist what would be the best products for your hair. Chemical agents are widely used to add curl to straight hair and to loosen curls in curly hair. These products defat the scalp and permanently alter the structure of the hair. These compounds can also cause severe hair loss from over processing. Never use perms or relaxers on damaged hair.

Washing

  1. Wash and condition hair regularly.
  2. Detangle hair gently before washing. Do Not rub or twist hair.
  3. Add mild shampoo to cool water and swish hair till clean. Rinse thoroughly. 
  4. Blot out excess water with towel and allow hair to dry naturally. Do Not expose to sun.
  5. Comb curly hair gently with your fingers from end to top. Don't Brush. 
  6. Brush straighter hair in a downward motion straight with the ends. Work your way up to the roots.
  7. Certain items should not be brushed. Consult your hair stylist if in doubt.
  8. Hair may tangle if general care directions are not followed properly.

Curly Hair Care

Deep wave/Curly/ Kinky curly hair always needs more maintenance than wavy or straight hair, please make sure you can handle this maintenance, or consult with a professional if you are unfamiliar with the maintenance of virgin curly hairs. Curly hair needs to be wet EVERYDAY to keep from tangling frizzing and matting. You will need to purchase an empty spray bottle. Fill bottle with water and add just a little conditioner, maybe a teaspoon. Shake well and spray everyday. You want curly hair to be moist everyday. ALSO CONDITION 2 TO 3 TIMES WEEKLY. (Tressame flawless curls Conditioner and Shampoo) Only use SHAMPOO/Co-WASH once a month.

SHAMPOOING (ONCE A MONTH)

When shampooing make sure your hair is not bunched up or piled on top of your head. This badly tangles hair. Instead of doing this, gently wash vertically in one direction only. Be sure to use a rather gentle shampoo and don't skimp on the quality. Don't ruin your hair and/or extensions by trying to save a couple of dollars on the super cheap stuff. Go with good reputed brands in the market. Using good quality products like shampoo, conditioners and hair gels will enhance the life of your hair extensions and also help them look better. If your extensions are sewn in, you need to treat them like your own hair and take good care to comb it and slowly remove the knots and maintain the hair. After your shower, feel free to dry your hair the same way you would have dried your own natural hair. We would highly revommend an ionic dryer or just air dry it because that wont damage the hair. Also use good quality straightening irons and curling rods.
